And we are back!

Hi all. Apologies for our hiatus. We were fighting WWIII with the phone companies to get internet installed at our house. I won't even go into it, I'll just get fired up. Anyway, we have internet and we are now connected to the world... that's all that matters.

Cooper is so BIG now! My little boy is growing up. I miss my newborn already, but I love every new stage as well. He is sitting on his own pretty well these days. He's still a bit wobbly but his balance is improving every day. No teeth yet, but the pain is there :( He is very talkative, saying mamamamama and dadadadada, and babababababa, and yyyyyyaaaaa! He is a very observant little boy. He checks things out before going full speed ahead, and he is the same with people as well. When he meets a new person he stares at them with an expressionless face for a good 20 min! He has a bit of separation anxiety, but it's only noticeable when he's tired. We've started sign language, but he hasn't really started doing the signs himself yet. He loves when I do them though. So I do think he's noticing. Breastfeeding is still going really well. I am so glad that I stuck it out, although at the time giving up never crossed my mind. I'm not sure yet how long we'll continue, I guess we will just wait and see.

We've started solids and we are doing a combination of purees and finger foods. We started with mashed up banana, and then bananas turned into gold after the floods and the cyclone so we haven't had any since! I liked the concept of baby led weaning so we are doing that, with a bit of me feeding him as well. BLW is FUN. It was scary for me at first, freaking out that he might choke. But he does really well now, if anything he gags more on purees. I've given him slices of avocado, apple, pear, watermelon, peach, toast, cucumber, sweet potato, chicken (shredded), carrot, and broccoli. He's a good eater, and I like that he feeds himself. Sometimes he eats quite a bit and sometimes he just plays with it :) He still breastfeeds like a champ though so he's not missing out.

So next week our little family will be travelling 24hrs to TN. Dan will actually be going to Chicago first for work, and then he will meet up with us in TN after. I'm nervous about the flight, but like I said to Dan - I made it through labor, childbirth, and breastfeeding. I will get through 24hrs of travelling with a baby. Hopefully it will go smoothly with no delays. I'm looking forward to it so much and I'm so excited and thankful that we can go. I wasn't expecting it at all.

Oh I've started a business selling cloth nappies. I've only just started it, but it's going well. It's called Bumz the Word, and I've set up a page on Facebook. I came up with the idea after being frustrated that I couldn't go anywhere in my area to see nappies up close and in person. So my idea was born. I'm taking appointments to come and shop at my house, and I'm doing nappy demonstration parties - as well as selling on facebook. Primarily its about educating people on the benefits of using cloth and giving them an opportunity to speak to someone about them and see them in person. It's still very new, and since we are leaving next week I haven't done much to get it going this week, but I will get back into it when we get back. I would love to be able to make money doing something I am passionate about while being able to work around Cooper. So if you know anyone who is interested in using cloth nappies please tell them about me!

I better go, I'm going to try and upload some pictures I've taken over the last few months and then I'm going to bed :)
